Holiday gift wrapping does not have to be shiny and red all the time. Try these simple ideas to bring a twist to your gifts. Not only will your gift look unique, you will also find a new purpose for things you would normally just recycle.
Three of my all time favorite ways to wrap a gift are
- Using newspaper.
- Using brown paper bags.
- Using used printer paper.
Once I wrap the gift with recycled items, I like to jazz it up a bit and almost always reach for twine to do this. One roll of inexpensive twine can do a lot!
I’m sharing three gifts that I have wrapped using recycled products today. With each gift I will walk you through a new technique.
First, for this present here, I simply added bright neon green dots all over my newspaper using an ink dauber. Simple, easy, quick and a kid would love doing this!
Next, for this present, I die cut a whole bunch of circles from a magazine.
I used the Fiskars Fuse and a shiny magazine insert from my Sunday newspaper, then folded these circles into fourths and adhered them to form a big dimensional embellishment.
This next one is a fun way to use paint samples.
We recently painted our home and have tons of these lying around. These add a pop of color to anything! I simple trimmed these paint samples into strips and the folded them into loops to form a snowflake like embellishment.
I topped each one of these gifts with a tag that I designed and printed at home.
And you can download these tags for free today!
Designing printables is one of my favorite things to do. I find that printables are super convenient for the busy crafter and I share a ton of them on my blog- all of which are free! Click here to check them out!
