Today I’m here with a quick tutorial on how I use my Bind-it-All machine to help me create inserts (or dashboards as the planner girls call them) for my Get to Workbook planner. Because the Get to Workbook is coilbound and not in a binder it can be a little bit more difficult to insert additional pages than say if you had a filofax or 3-ring binder. Fortunately it’s pretty easy to do with the Bind-it-All and a pair of scissors.
- Studio Calico ‘Get it Together’ print (from previous planner kit)
- Bind-it-All binding machine
- Small tipped scissors
- Get to Workbook coilbound planner
First, punch the holes all along the left side of your insert. Start by lining up the first hole just below the top edge of the paper, punching the holes, and then repeating until you get to the bottom.
If you have a different machine (or if you’re hardcore and do it with a ruler and a hole punch) your process will be slightly different. If you’re unsure, try the technique out on some scrap paper first before heading in whole hog.
Next take a pair of small-tipped sharp scissors and cut two slits in the middle of each hole. It should look like a torn out sheet of notebook paper.
Finish up by adding it into your book wherever you want. It’s moveable, so you can change its place if you need to. It’s a flexible technique that you can use over and over again to add inserts into your Get to Workbook planner or any other coil/spiral-bound notebook.
Boom. Inserts wherever you want them.
